Modern Implantology

The dental implant is a titanium device inserted into the maxillary bone in order to replace one or more teeth. It must be mentioned that this field combines two branches of dentistry: surgery and prosthetics. The dental implant is no longer just a luxury but can become a necessity in the dental restoration treatments, often being the ideal solution to solve such problems.

Dental implantology represents the procedure of dental dentistry that solves the partial edentation without affecting the neighbouring teeth, thus eliminating the unpleasant total removable prosthesis. Basically, it deals with the replacement of missing teeth by introducing intraosseously an artificial dental root, on which is later built a prosthetic work.

Over the dental implants will be made a prosthetic work: dental crown, dental bridge, removable prosthesis; sometimes, to the dental implants can be attached orthodontic appliances to straighten or align the teeth.

At the first stage, a surgery is required to place the dental implants inside the maxillary bone. Initially, a medication is administered for relaxation (only when needed) and for preventing the infections, the anti-biotherapy. Then the LOCAL specialised anaesthetic is administered in order to numb the area where the implantologist is going to work.
The integration of implants into the body is accomplished by a process called OSTEO-INTEGRATION: "Fixed contact between the normal reshaped bone and the implant, without interposing of bone tissue, allowing the continuous transfer of implant tasks to and into the bone tissue."  The osteo-integration lasts between 3 and 6 months.

Will I benefit from a temporary dental work during the treatment period?: Definitely! Regardless of the case, the patient will have a temporary work that will mask the missing tooth (teeth).

In the aesthetic areas:
There are situations where the tooth extractions from aesthetic areas are necessary for various reasons: The root fracture of an overworked tooth, an accident that can compromise one or more teeth, the edentation (absence) of a permanent tooth with the presence in the mouth of the milk tooth. In this case can be inserted the implant immediately after extraction, thus avoiding the unpleasantness created by the AESTHETIC EMERGENCIES! The extraction of a frontal tooth followed by an immediate insertion of an implant and rapid fixed restoration is regarded as the most acceptable treatment option in most aesthetically critical situations.
DESIGN: All of the implants used are of titanium grade 4, sanded with TiO2 and altered with fluorides, having a design with coronary micro-threads.
The principle: ALL ON 4.
This implantological principle is addressed to the patient who wants implants and fixed work, but who: It is entirely edentulous (toothless) and who wears a removable prosthesis; The existing teeth are severely affected by complicated cavities and have an advanced form of periodontal disease, severe bone atrophy in the posterior mandibular area.
